Lexington is an emerging city with more than a quarter million residents and outstanding schools, colleges and universities. Lexington is anchored by the state's largest flagship school, the University of Kentucky, known for its fiercely loyal basketball fans and by Transylvania University, the first college west of the Allegheny Mountains.
